This year the Board of Education formally recognizes the countless contributions that Hispanic Americans have made to this nation and proclaims September 15th – October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month.
Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) will be celebrating the various Hispanic/Latino/Latina/Latinx cultures.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are engaging our students with a district-wide art contest. If your CUSD student would like to participate in this Art Contest, please review the Art Contest rules (link to pdf ) and submit your child's entry by September 11th to your school of attendance.
Each CUSD school site will support Hispanic Heritage Month through site-based activities, which may include the following:

Spanish word of the day

Weekly Quotes from Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx role models

Celebrate Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx Literature, Art, History, and Food

Movie Night featuring Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx Culture (ex: Coco, Rio)

Potluck at ELAC and/or other family engagement nights

Culturally relevant lessons
