Winners of Hispanic Heritage Drawing Contest

The Cabrillo Unified School District is pleased to announce the winners of the Hispanic Heritage Month Drawing Contest. They are listed in alphabetical order. Please click on the student's name to view the entire drawing.

These students' art will be displayed in businesses around downtown Half Moon Bay and will receive a gift certificate.

All students participants in the contest will receive a certificate of participation from CUSD.

We would like to thank all students participants to the Drawing Contest for showing their enthusiasm, creativity and originality to interpret what it means for them the Hispanic Heritage.

This year the Board of Education formally recognizes the countless contributions that Hispanic Americans have made to this nation and proclaims September 15th – October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month.   

Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) will be celebrating the various Hispanic/Latino/Latina/Latinx cultures. 


In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are engaging our students with a district-wide art contest. If your CUSD student would like to participate in this Art Contest, please review the Art Contest rules (link to pdf ) and submit your child's entry by September 11th to your school of attendance.

Each CUSD school site will support Hispanic Heritage Month through site-based activities, which may include the following:

  • Spanish word of the day

  • Weekly Quotes from Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx role models

  • Celebrate Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx Literature, Art, History, and Food

  • Movie Night featuring Hispanic/Latino(a)/Latinx Culture (ex: Coco, Rio)

  • Potluck at ELAC and/or other family engagement nights

  • Culturally relevant lessons
