District Committees

Cabrillo Unified School District convenes several committees to ensure adequate input on key topics requiring systematic, ongoing input from a cross-functional group of employees and/or community members.  In addition to these district-wide committees, school sites convene a School Site Council, led by the principal, to develop the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and advise on the School Safety Plan.

Curriculum Adoption Committee (CAC, to be convened Winter 2019-20)

Led by the district's Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and Categorical Programs and including district faculty and administrator representation, the purpose of the CAC is to advise the Curriculum and Instruction department on topics relating to curriculum adoption (e.g., planning and implementation).

English Learner Council (ELC, to be convened Winter 2019/20)

Led by the district's Education Support Services and including district faculty and administrator representation, the purpose of the ELC is to advise the Curriculum and  Instruction department on topics relating to the English Learner Master Plan, vision, and general advice for supporting English Learner (EL) students as well as EL identification, assessment, and placement; instructional programs; monitoring and reclassification; staffing and professional development; parent and community involvement; evaluation and accountability; and funding and resources.

English Learner Advisory Committees (ELACs and DELAC)

Led by Education Support Services and including parent/guardians of English Learner students, the purpose of school-specific ELACs is to advise administrators and staff on plans to support English Learners within the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA); to assist in the development of schoolwide needs assessments, and to help promote regular school attendance among English Learner students.  The District ELAC (DELAC), supports district-wide planning and support for English Learners. 

Financial Advisory Committee

Led by the district's Chief Business Official and comprised of community and district faculty/staff representation, the purpose of the FAC is to advise the district on topics relating to the district's operating budget.

Bond and Parcel Tax Oversight Committee 

Coordinated by the district's Chief Business Official and comprised of community representatives, the purpose of the Facilities Bond Citizens' Oversight Committee is to ensure spending is aligned with the voter-approved bond measure, via an annual external audit on funds from bonds from both facilities bond measures, Measure M and Measure S.
