The Cabrillo Unified School District declares the month of June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in our schools and invites everyone to reflect on ways we all can live and work together with a commitment to mutual respect and understanding. Furthermore, CUSD recognizes June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month by flying the Rainbow Flag and/or the Progress Flag at the District Office and at our schools during the month of June.

The Cabrillo Unified School District and the Coastside community recognize the importance of understanding the history of this area, particularly with regard to honoring the cultures and lives of the Ohlone people and other indigenous peoples who lived here first.
September 10, 2020 - Proclamation: Declaring October as LGBTQ History Month | Español
Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board celebrates and honors its annual celebration of October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) History Month. CUSD recognizes the ongoing need to acknowledge the history and achievements of LGBTQ people, and we support the implementation of programs and curricula that reflect the diversity of LGBTQ people. CUSD recognizes the importance of upholding the legal rights of LGBTQ people, and CUSD shall work toward voluntary self-identification efforts for sexual orientation and gender identity and expression (SOGIE) data collection in our schools while promoting policies and practices protecting LGBTQ people.
